It's the most exciting bronc and bull riding you'll find, right here in South Congaree in our covered arena. The 17th Annual Western Weekend Rodeo is your chance to enjoy 2 nights of IPRA rodeo where spectators are on top of the rodeo action making it an evening of great excitement and entertainment.
We look forward to having you join us this year for our 17th annual rodeo and festival…this year will be our largest crowd ever –The IPRA group have been retain for April 11 & 12. this is the southeast’s top riders and livestock company… and our half time entertainment will be just as exciting.
Our schedule of events:
Friday at 4:00 pm the festivities begin with carnival rides, games, live entertainment, arts and crafts, fair foods of all kinds and at 8:pm the rodeo begins.
Saturday at 10:00 am the Western Parade – South Congaree’s largest parade of the year. At 11:00 am you’ll enjoy all the festivities -carnival rides, fair food, entertainment from area schools and local talent, arts and crafts, live demonstrations and new this year lexington county’s - smoke house - it’s so real you can feel the heat. In the arena area the American Indian pow-wow enactment music, dance, food and stories - come learn about our heritage. Local bands, car show, children’s calf scramble and other exciting activities come join in on the fun.
Once again at 8:00 pm the International Professional Rodeo Group is back in town!

Event is brought to you by: South Congaree Area Business Association.
This event began as a fundraiser for the South Congaree and Gaston Fire Stations and Town of South Congaree projects. It has grown to become a major fundraiser for the local Boy Scout Troops and other non-profits. Attendance for the rodeo is around 3,000 to 4,000 per event per year. Demographically, it attracts visitors and guest from mainly North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
